4th Annual East Coast KSDS Tournament

The 4th Annual East Coast KSDS Tournament was held at the Mt. Pleasant Recreation Center in Greenville South Carolina and sponsored by Professor Steve L Dirton, Dirton’s Kajukembo Martial Arts and AW Trucking Inc.  Competitors, spectors, friends and family poured into the event with anticipation of having a very eventful and promising day.

In the Breaking division Anthony Young received 1st place in the 12-17 (All Ranks – Male and Female).  In the Children divisions (Traditional weapons/kata, Open weapons/kata, Musicals, and Sparring) the following competitors received 1st place: Lane Webb, Christopher Cross, Morgan Dauley, Caleb Smith, Roselyn Marquez, Payton vey, Meagan Blaney, Jeter Turrany, Vincent Black, Rani Kershaw, Jesse Roper, Lilly Hutchinson, David Cruz Juazez, Marc Lamb, Levi Smith, Colin Bruckmon, Henry Franklin, Madison Falls, Antwan Seegars, Kenneth Gaut, Sincere Holmes, Seth Duley Marley Twitty, Jordan Boles, Deshon Smith, Keith Dye, Joseph Thomas, Landon Walker, Antione Shaw, Hannah Kershaw, Tiyahana Blackmon, Zearaney Jones, Rani Kershaw, and  Ideashua Taylor.  These young competitors got the crowd in a uproar with their demonstration of Martial Arts skills and techniques especially to be so young.  Congratulations to all the competitors in their respective divisions you were all GREAT.

The Adult divisions were nothing from spectacular as these competitors showed more precision and concentration in their respectively divisions.  The following competitors received 1st place (Traditional weapons/kata, Open weapons/kata, Musicals, and Sparring): Stephen Lloyd, Kim Moran, Keith Brickner, Kim Moore, Marvin Portillo, Devin Beam, Dustin Hall, Ashley Leopard, and Immanuel Harrison.  The Adult competitors demonstrated more precise and focused use of Martial Arts skills and techniques in demonstrating that the more you practice the better you get. They let to crowd know that Martial Arts has no age preference and that it is never too late to start.  In the Black Belt Divisions, the competitors finished the day with a large bang as they demonstrated Martial Arts skill, techniques, self-control and stamina towards their opponents.  The following competitors (Traditional weapons/kata, Open weapons/kata, Musicals, and Sparring) received 1st place in their respective divisions: Nathan Crean, Casey Manti, Eddie Harvey, Dale Harvey, Cint Moore, Johnny Blackmon, Carley Alzo, Nathaniel Wall, Thomas Dionne, and Casey Roper.

Professor Dirton, staff, family, friends and students made this event very enjoyable.  We look forward to next year’s fun packed tournament.  Our next event will be:
